Our approach to online video production starts with the strengths of YOUR brand. Having run and grown one of our own brands from zero to 400,000+ subscribers collectively across our social media channels, along with over 22 million organic video views, we understand the importance of being in control of your own digital content and we are well versed in being the ‘video arm’ to your marketing and social media content departments.

Video production is far away from ‘one size fits all’; every brand video we produce is bespoke and requires shared creative thinking between our film production team and your own marketing team. There are of course certain formats and aspect ratios (portrait, landscape, square, who knows hexagonal may come with the next social media platform craze) that need to be adhered to, but we believe that the creativity starts with your own brand and your USP.

Why ‘Curious Crab’?

What usually comes to mind when we think of crabs is their sideways walk, which we agree is comical to watch, but perhaps not the most interesting fact about them. There are far more fascinating qualities to the humble crab that we feel align with our agency really rather well:

The collective name for a group of crabs is a ‘cast’. Yes – our production team is capable of casting actors as and when needed.
'Casts' of crabs also work together to provide food and protection for their families. We liken ourselves to a small ‘cast’ of creative video makers. We are here to serve and to scuttle around you, putting food and ideas on the table (whether your brand is food-related or not!) that we as a team will help you sift through.
A crab's spherical eyes prop up on a ‘stilt’ to allow them to see the world in 360°. Our perfectionist cameramen always have their spherical goggles on with every shot. Our producers and directors strive to deliver a 360° service and guide you through creative storyboards to final cut delivery of your brand videos.

At entry level, some clients of ours are just embarking on their video content journey and require clear and vibrant brand videos that perhaps sit on their websites and can also be cut down into their first ever social media videos or paid social media adverts.

Other companies are further along the line and know that at the very least, consistency is key and they are ready to invest in regular video production and marketing content to amplify their brand across their existing social media platforms and marketing channels. With these more established companies, we tend to work on larger marketing campaigns or on a monthly retainer basis, delivering an agreed set number of lifestyle videos each month to support their on-going marketing campaigns and amplify their messages.

About Curious Crab

Our founding team are young and talented, but humble and hard-working. We have collectively worked in all aspects of food, drink and travel video production from TV production through to brand marketing and have worked together over many years through our sister company School of Wok, which Jeremy Pang, our Creative Director (who you may well recognise from the successful brand YouTube channel).

Our producer has had extensive experience working on branded content and TV projects such as Come Dine With Me and seems to have the ability to writes scripts & recipes, create production schedules, produce and direct simultaneously.

We pull our production crew expertise into every part of the customer journey, from creative meetings to filming days and straight into editing and animations, which means every one of our projects has the correct technical input throughout the creative process. Our values are shared and we believe that if we follow these simple, often unspoken rules, we will continue to make good, creative content:
